What is new in 2026
This year we will trial using just one portal for purchasing both general audience and chorister tickets through Humanitix. This will avoid having to click on two separate ticket sites to purchase tickets for a pair or group involving choristers and non-choristers.
We have set two questions for be answered prior to final payment: the name of the CHORISTER for whom a chorister ticket is being purchased and the name of a CHOIR that person is singing with in this year’s festival. If no chorister is involved in your purchase, simply answer NONE to these two questions.
We will also trial a weekend pass for the 6 concerts in Phillips Hall: $120 instead of $180 (with a 50% discount for choristers). If you purchase weekend passes you automatically will be asked to select a seat for each person; that is their seat for every concert. Note that the SHiNDiG is not included in the weekend pass – it’s an expensive event for us to hold and we need to be careful to cover our costs.
There are also three free concerts in this year’s program: Friday 9:30 PM in Gardners Inn, and two parallel concerts at 1:30 PM, one in Gardners Inn and the other in the Blackheath Golf Club.
General audience
If you are not a member of a choir singing at the 2026 Blackheath Choir Festival you need to purchase an audience ticket, so please do not select the tickets marked “CHORISTER ONLY TICKET”.
Choristers
Choristers in choirs participating in this year’s Festival receive a 50% discount off the normal $30 ticket prices, including the Weekend Pass. So chorister concerts tickets are just $15 and the Weekend PASS $60 (as mentioned above, the SHiNDiG is not included in this ticket).
If seats are available, you can sit in the chorister area (or the auditorium) during the session you are singing in for free. You can purchase a discounted ticket for that session if you wish to sit as an audience member when you are not singing (eg to join your partner when you have finished singing).
You can purchase at most one ticket per session for yourself and those tickets are not transferable. You will need to enter your name and the name of the choir you are singing with at the 2024 Blackheath Choir Festival. Please do not purchase a chorister ticket for your partner or friend, that is not in the spirit of this discount.
General Information
For locals,from 01 May, concert tickets can also be purchased Monday to Friday from Richardson & Wrench, corner of Wentworth St and Govetts Leap Rd, Blackheath. Tickets can also be purchased during the Festival from the Box Office in Phillips Hall (unless sold out). However locals wishing to purchase a Weekend Pass should contact Mick O’Neill by email (coordinator@blackheathchoirfestival.org) as selecting a seat is involved in that purchase.
Message to MDs and/or choir contacts: If you wish to purchase a number of chorister tickets for the same session contact me directly (coordinator@blackheathchoirfestival.org). We can arrange that you can pick them up from the box office in Phillips Hall foyer during the festival.
Our online ticket agency, Humanitix, donates 100% of profits from ticket booking fees to charity; in 2023 alone this amounted to almost four million dollars world wide. The online fee adds (50 cents + 2.5%) per ticket, so for example a purchase of 2 tickets to the value $20 would cost you $21.50 online.
Note that all ticket prices shown to buyers on Humanitix will be inclusive of fees. The actual ticket price and the fee are shown throughout the checkout process.
